Position available at Marcho Farms, Inc. in Souderton, PA. Responsible for the following activities:

  • Overall responsibility for ensuring Marcho Farms' quality control and quality assurance practices are in place and effective as well as the supervision of the quality assurance laboratory including procedures, people, and equipment;
  • Oversees and participates in supplier approval and assessment reviews. Oversees customer complaint investigation and manages non conformities in process and finished product;
  • Co-manages the SQF program and food safety program with the QA manager and acts as a QA director backup;
  • Establishes quality assurance specifications for incoming raw materials, in-process testing, finished products and ingredients. Oversees the implementation and adherence to these specifications by supplier and production personnel. Responsible for the holding and releasing product inventory until the test results are released;
  • Conducts documentation review and approval including but not limited to pre-requisite program, HACCP, GMP, SOP, SSOP and microbiological sampling testing protocol;
  • Maintains detailed inspection and/or investigation records, prepares reports and attends to other related group organizational requirements;
  • Responsible for performing QA laboratory activities and reviews results for trend analysis. Performs regular maintenance of laboratory equipments and schedule calibration annually;
  • Facilitates and oversees internal food safety and quality system audits and reports results to QA manager;
  • Participate in customer and 3rd party audits including audit preparation and action item follow up;
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable regulation, guidance document and FSIS recent industry actions;
  • Maintains consistency of compliance in all areas and provides feedback and training to management and production staff. Interfaces with company’s internal departments, clients and USDA- FSIS on QA regulatory matters.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or related field.
  • One (1) year of industry experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of current USDA regulations and policies.
  • SQF and HACCP certified.
